ConstructWise Tokens are the unit of AI processing that powers every feature in ConstructWise. Think of them like fuel — every time the AI generates a bid, builds a schedule, analyzes a document, or answers a chat question, it consumes tokens. Simple tasks like a quick chat question use fewer tokens. Complex tasks like generating a full multi-trade bid estimate use more. Your monthly allotment is designed to comfortably cover normal usage.
Every AI request costs us real compute — the more complex the task, the more it costs. Token-based pricing means you're never subsidizing another company's heavy usage, and we never have to throttle your access or cap your features. Your subscription includes a generous monthly allotment that covers most users. You only pay extra if you go significantly beyond that — and at that point, the value you're getting far exceeds the cost.
Most users won't. Foundation includes 1 million tokens per month — enough for dozens of AI-generated bids plus daily chat and document analysis. Podium includes 3 million tokens, built for high-volume estimating shops. You'll get usage alerts at 80% and 100%, and you can purchase top-up packs anytime if you need more.
Yes. Every plan includes a usage dashboard that shows your current token consumption, a breakdown by feature (bids, schedules, chat, document analysis), and projected usage for the month. You'll also receive automated alerts at 80% and 100% of your allotment.
Your monthly plan tokens reset each month and do not roll over — we sized each allotment with a comfortable buffer so you're not counting every query. Top-up tokens, however, never expire and stay in your account until you use them.
Yes. You can add users at any time and each user gets their own token allotment. On Foundation you can have up to 3 users, Podium supports up to 15, and Summit is unlimited. Read-only collaborators (e.g., project owners reviewing bids) are free and unlimited on every plan.
